Unfolding the Turin Process
2020 has been a very strange time to be an artist. I never imagined that my reclusive COVID-19 summer in Penzance would result in an artistic epiphany. A time when the virus became a catalyst in the unfolding of an exciting methodology which I call the Turin Process. Here in Exhibition Two – ‘Unfolding the Turin Process’ – I reveal my new findings.
Part mono print and part mixed media, the Turin Process is a way of transferring marks (which I refer to as data) directly from our natural world. I subsequently interpret these marks to create ‘answers’. It is a manifestation of the dialogue between myself and the Universal Analogue Framework that I believe exists in the natural world. A ‘transceiver’ effect is activated from specific artefacts or natural sites as a method of communication with the conscious environment. Many may interpret my work as a process of ‘magical conjuring’ but after a lifetime of personal research, I believe that I am tapping into a natural ‘intelligence’ that embodies everything. The art is the direct result of this dialogue, where the natural environment is my source and I am the interpreter. In a nutshell, the images don’t come from me, but are channelled from the natural world.
